so lara and i were going to first write an excuse-tumble-note to all of you to say that we’re sorry we haven’t posted in so long. but the thing is, that implies that somehow we have taken away something vital in your lives when really … i’m sure there is mild to “meh” interest in our usually dull blog.
so let me just say: we’ll try to write more from now on.
i‘m in salt lake city learning all about airplanes.
my homework is stuff like.. memorizing airport codes and a million other acrynoms, safety tips and of course getting down those plane signals. i’m avoiding all of that right now and enjoying this website a whole hellofa a lot

..discovered in a series of links to links to links after watching a video by a band called Buraka Som Sistema (from Angola). i think i’ll post it, because its awesome. and i want to go to angola to learn to dance.

I want to make a bumper sticker for the bicycle.
It will read: My other bike is a Nissan.
Today Susan and I searched three different rental stores for Free Willy.
This is because Michael Jackson died today.
Michael Jackson died today.
I know we all know that by now, and probably every blogger has mentioned it, but that won’t stop me.
Michael Jackson died today.
Insane.
This will be a day that people look back on and tell about to others.
Where you were the day the King of Pop died.
The day the King of Pop died.
So we went to find Free Willy to commemorate.
Mostly because I don’t think Captain EO was ever released on DVD.
Captain EO should be released on DVD.
I found a Blockbuster across town that was selling Free Willy.
I bought it.
I will now proceed to watch it.
As Michael said during the slightly creepy spoken part of Will You Be There [Theme from Free Willy]
“In Our Darkest Hour
In My Deepest Despair
Will You Still Care?
Will You Be There?
In My Trials
And My Tripulations
Through Our Doubts
And Frustrations
In My Violence
In My Turbulence
Through My Fear
And My Confessions
In My Anguish And My Pain
Through My Joy And My Sorrow
In The Promise Of Another Tomorrow
I’ll Never Let You Part
For You’re Always In My Heart. “
- innocently started with: tarantino fest
- sporadic roadtrip to LOST angeles (hollywood blvd, elena, kate & one l.a. jewish diner)
- back to SB for pancake breakfast and pirate excursions with the robertsons
- later that day: old school family friends [kate and family] playing midwest hick games, winning in ultimate adult-versus-college-students trivial pursuit tournament [it truly was epic], general funnnnn
- and then….
- beaches, exploring, cooool bars, summer solstice parade planning (lara is DJing for a friend’s parade here in town) and realizing over & over that we are here —once again — in the loveliest little southern californian town
- We are ready
[[[[[[ oh , and , one videoroadtrip blog coming soon!@!]]]]
I’m on my way to New Mexico. Stopped currently in Santa Monica, with friends such as Travis Fraser and Terence Latimer. Soon to stay with a Carly Cram. I wish I could say I’m jumpin’ a train to Santa Fe but instead I’m just plain ol’ flying to El Paso. Boring!
Then…
SISTER!!
Lara, I think we should consider videoblogging our roadtrip journey from all the way in the land of enchantment to the land of fish tacos.
… the nausea only kicks in during mundane things. Like, I keep looking down to a mirror in my hand in order to successfully pluck my eyebrows and throw up. Or I run for five seconds and throw up. Or, you know, wake up… and throw up.
YET!
I am able to go on roller coaster rides like a Champion. No nausea. Just pure fun.
Tonight a carnival came into Ruidoso! Woo hoo! Now imagine any crappy little weekend fair you’ve seen before. Now divide the size of that by about four and that’s how big this carnival was. Now none of my good friends would go on the good rides with me. They got funnel cake nausea on the ferris wheel and quit. But my friend’s male-friend, from ARMY, said he’d go on the exciting rides with me. So on two very twisty, loopy, motion-sickness inducing-y rides we went. And during the second ride, while I was having a dandy old time, he suddenly stopped talking and just sat there. As soon as the ride was over he walked away and stood near a trash can. I, however, was completely unscathed.
Moral of the story: I can out-motion a man who makes bombs for a living.
Boom.

I have recently lossed all creative juices. I believe this is because I am being so drained from school and living that by the time I get home I have nothing of worth to say. Not to say I don’t love school - it’s just that it’s the last month and the CHILDREN ARE GOING CRAZY.
So, because of my lack of anything interesting to say. I’m going to fill out one of these kind of dumb things that you might look over and sniffle at, “Oh that DOES fit!” but nothing more. Sorry I am contributing nothing to the world.
