My Top Ten Favorite Christmas Movies.

10. Die Hard. - Until recently I had never seen this movie, and therefore had no idea it had anything to do with Christmas. Now I do, and boy am I glad. This movie, like so many others, makes me wish I was not a pacifist so that I could kill a bunch of mothaf***as.

9. How the Grinch Stole Christmas. - This cartoon is perfect. True to the book, except for a few new bizarre songs that I’ve yet to wrap my brain around.

8. Elf. - From the first time when I saw this in the theater with David Chisholm and Daniela in England to when I watched it last week for the upteenth time, this movie makes me laugh hys/terically. The down side is that this is probably the only Will Ferrell movie in which he does not strip down to his underwear.

7. Babes in Toyland. - A TV musical from 1986 starring Drew Barrymore and Keanu Reeves. How to describe? Shall I write about the bad guys who live in a giant bowling ball or Keanu Reeves dressed as Jack-be-Nimble driving a little pink car? I won’t even go into it. If you have not seen this movie - see it. It has been a Daniela/Lara favorite since we were wee children and over the years it has just become better and better.

6. The Santa Clause. - The one good Tim Allen movie.

5. Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. - It’s okay to be different as long as your oddity is helpful. Otherwise, get out of here, you misfit.

4. Little Women. - This would be higher on the list, except that only a portion of it takes place at Christmas. And I never watch the second half because everyone grows up and becomes stupid.

3. While You Were Sleeping. - One of maybe five romantic comedies that I actually love. This is truly a Morgan classic. Wish I could find a better clip to sum it up, but it was either this one or a cheesy montage about Lucy and Jack. Gross.

2. A Charlie Brown Christmas. - A Charlie Brown Christmas! Children singing, Charlie Brown depressed, crappy Christmas trees, Peanuts dancing, and lessons taught by Linus - this is the most wonderful Christmas cartoon.  And this movie has the best voice acting of all time.

1. Home Alone/Home Alone 2. - This movie has it all. Want to see a bunch of guys get hit in the groin? You got it. Want to feel Christmas goosebumps when seeing an old man reunite with his granddaughter with John Williams overture? You got it double check. Well done, Chris, John and John. I love you.
